A World Shaped by
Values
Respect, empathy, equality, and shared responsibility are
the fundamental human principles that underpin everything in my idealised
world. These are not merely catchphrases; rather, they form the basis of our
way of life, decision-making, and interpersonal interactions. There are few but
important laws: treat everyone with respect, preserve the environment, and
prioritise cooperation over conflict. Hierarchies that are unfair have no place
here. Everyone is not only welcomed, but also celebrated, regardless of their
origin, gender, colour, or religion.
Leadership in this world isn't about power or popularity. Leaders are selected
based on their capacity for humility, unity, and listening. Safe housing,
healthcare, and education are rights, not privileges. Your future is not
determined by money. Rather, the way forward is illuminated by your generosity,
enthusiasm, and purpose.
A Glimpse Into This
World
Local artists have painted
murals on structures that depict tales of resiliency and optimism. Fresh
flowers and veggies grow in rooftop gardens that are cared after by neighbours
of all ages. Instead of dividing people with walls or gates, parks and open
spaces bring people together. No sirens blaring through the night, only the
free flow of music, laughter, and conversation.
Everyone in my neighbourhood smiles when they greet one
another. Children are playing and learning while elders sit on benches.
Eco-friendly, clean-energy-powered homes are made with comfort and communal
living in mind. Help is always available by having a conversation, and
libraries never close.
Living in Kindness
In this world, being kind is not uncommon; it is a part of
daily existence. There are no hesitations or questions when it comes to helping
a stranger. Children are raised in non-bullying situations not because of fear
but rather because they are taught how to handle disagreements amicably from a
young age. Just as much emphasis is placed on mental health as on physical
health. When someone is struggling, the answer should be one of empathy,
concern, and support rather than shame.
There is no crime because the desires of individuals are satisfied, not because
they fear punishment. They experience safety, affection, and visibility.
Injustice and suffering are dealt with at their source before they become
issues. The community comes together to support someone who is in pain.
Who Protects Justice?
Justice is a common duty in this idealised society, not the
domain of a chosen few. Trained community listeners in every neighbourhood
resolve disputes, assist those in need, and make sure everyone's voice is
heard. The spotlight placed on prevention, care, and community healing
eliminates the need for traditional police systems. People of all ages
participate in inclusive town meetings where decisions are made jointly, and
technology aids in ensuring transparency and justice.
Why This World
Matters to Me
My roots—my family's history—are the source of this vision.
My grandparents told me about their struggles: my grandfather had to work as a
child to support his family, and my grandmother was denied an education because
she was a girl. I was shaped by these tales. They made me aware of the extent
of injustice that individuals have faced and continue to face.
For the future, I want something different. Fairness should be the rule rather
than the exception in the world my brothers, cousins, and future children will
grow up in. a society in which nobody is left behind and no child may endure
hunger or fear as they grow up. I honour my family's hardships and safeguard
future generations by pursuing my aspiration.
What Stops This From
Being Real?
Naturally, there are still barriers in the form of fear,
greed, and institutions that favour a select few at the expense of the
majority. Race, geography, and wealth are used to divide people, but in
reality, we are much more alike than different.
However, we are the first to provide hope. This world can become something we
can create together if we question injustice, lead with love, and have faith in
one another. One brave moment, one act of empathy, and one collective choice at
a time.
